Background

Welcome
Many of us reach out when we feel the need for support, or help working through challenging times. Sometimes we face challenges we think are too difficult to manage alone. I believe in taking a strength-based, client-centered approach to psychotherapy, working with you to help you grow toward your best self. The familiar ways you have of dealing with life's complications may not be working; together we can work to identify new positive means of change.

I have trained in an integrative model of psychotherapy, and have experience with person-centered, CBT, narrative, existential/humanist therapies, and other methods. No two clients are alike, and I collaborate with my clients to plan customized therapy that works for each person.

I am a Gender Specialist as defined by Gaylesta, and work as part of a Gender Team of clinicians at UCSF. I regularly assist clients with issues related to gender identity and gender-affirming procedures.

Group #1: Description
Aging comes with a unique set of challenges, and many men feel particular pressure to succeed. It may be a sense of “why haven’t I accomplished what I wanted,” or “why am I not as successful as my friends,” or any of a thousand ways we compare ourselves to others.
If we’re single (and don’t want to be), we may worry that the possibility of a long-term relationship is out of reach. We may feel isolated, lonely, depressed. If we’re in relationship(s), we may be feeling stagnant, or unfulfilled, or simply unheard.
Men over 50 can experience high rates of isolation and an increased need to connect. We welcome male-identified folks looking for a space to connect with others, share experiences, and build connection and community.
