Background

Welcome
My therapeutic approach is grounded in traditional western psychology and is also greatly informed by Eastern traditions. My style is interactive supportive and collaborative. I am trained in the Hakomi Method of therapy which will help you look beyond how you have typically thought about your situation and your life. You will learn more about yourself from a deeper emotional perspective. This style of therapy is gentle yet directive and often provides new and profound insight and awareness. The therapy proceeds very organically at the pace that is right for you.
In addition to working with individuals a large part of my work is with gay and lesbian couples. In our work together you and your partner will get the insight and tools needed to break free of dysfunctional communication patterns. The skills you learn will help you both be more comfortable with deeper levels of intimacy and help you navigate through difficult relationship transitions.
I have enjoyed working as a therapist for the gay community in the Castro for over 15 years. My personal practices include yoga, meditation, and the study of indigenous healing and shamanism. I am committed to helping members of our community find meaning purpose and empowerment within the gay experience.
