Background

Welcome
I work with individuals to create a safe place to explore patterns in your relationships, ways to heal from substance use or other self-destructive behaviors, or areas where you are stuck in fear or depression. I help couples to develop clearer and more empathic ways of communicating and more satisfying sexual relationships or to find healthier ways to transition out of relationship. I do both brief and long-term therapy with individuals and couples using a variety of techniques and modalities including deep listening, EMDR, relaxation training, exploring connections between current struggles and past experiences, increasing body awareness, and using creative expression as a part of therapy. Our personal history, social injustices and the protections we develop can disconnect us from ourselves and our communities and lead to anxiety and depression. Therapy can offer a way to reconnect with our creativity, our compassion, sexuality, spirituality and sense of humor. If you want to know more or have any questions please call or email me and I would be happy to respond.
Additional thoughts
I particularly focus on using EMDR to help adults who were abused or traumatized as children and subsequently relive their experiences over and over again. This powerful therapy can help you experience stories from the past as events that are no longer happening.

Group Therapy Information

Attachment Focused EMDR Practicum Group
Group #1: Focus
  • Therapist Consultation/Supervision
Group #1: Description
The practicum is a small monthly Attachment-Focused EMDR practicum for therapists who have trained with the Parnell EMDR Institute.
This group is intended to offer you a chance to get direct learning and feedback on your EMDR techniques while simultaneously giving you a place to process your own material, and gain support.
We split the time between clinical conversation and direct practice. It is our hope that through this process you feel a deeper connection with yourself and your trusted colleagues while gaining more expertise using EMDR.
