How often do you get to watch the sun slip into the Pacific behind the Golden Gate Bridge without a clock ticking in the background? Whether you missed out on our first sunset cruise back in May or you're ready for another go-around on the water, here is your opportunity—and this time, we’re expanding our invite list and relational circle.

SFCAMFT, Marin CAMFT, East Bay CAMFT and Gaylesta are teaming up to co-host our second iteration on a legendary vessel from the Red and White Fleet—an iconic piece of SF maritime history since 1892! Watch the city sparkle to life with the return of The Bay Lights and experience a unique kind of wonder, playing "tourist for a day" alongside colleagues and friends from across the Bay Area.

We aren't just taking in the views; we're practicing some high-level group processing. Think of it as experiential learning in somatic regulation (that sea breeze), structural resilience (the Golden Gate), and rigid boundaries (Alcatraz). Whether you're looking to consult on life, expand your referral network across chapters and LGBTQ+ clinical communities, or simply offload a week’s worth of held space over a cocktail, there is plenty of room on board to connect, recharge, and be human together.

(And yes, we know Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is taking over Golden Gate Park this weekend! Whether you're actively dodging the banjo solos, taking a break from the crowds, or couldn't care less about bluegrass—just be sure to plan for extra traffic on your way to the Wharf!)

THE CLINICAL TIMELINE

5:00 PM | The Group Intake (Meetup at Pier 43 ½): Transition from "therapist mode" to "social mode." We are gathering early at Pier 43 ½ so you can pick up your admission pass and drink ticket, while giving members from San Francisco, Marin, East Bay CAMFT, Gaylesta, and their guests ample time to introduce themselves, connect, and mingle before we board together.

6:30 PM | Departure: Unlike a lingering client, the boat will not hold space. We leave on time!

8:30 PM | Termination Phase: Return to the wharf, fully regulated, reconnected, and affirmed. ️ RSVP HERE: CLAIM YOUR SPOT & BRING A GUEST https://www.sfcamft.org/event-details/sunset-boat-cruise-on-the-bay

INVESTMENT & GUEST POLICY

  • Admission: $40 per ticket

  • Plus-Ones & Colleagues Welcome: You do not need to sail solo! Partners, spouses, clinical interns, associates, non-therapist friends, and colleagues are all warmly invited to join. (Just be sure to grab a ticket for each person in your group when you RSVP!)

NOURISHMENT & LOGISTICS

  • The Goods: Ticket includes a 2-Hour Iconic Cruise and one complimentary drink ticket (distributed during the 5 PM meetup; full cash bar available on board).

  • Intervention Strategy: We highly recommend taking full advantage of being a tourist in our own city by grabbing a late lunch or early dinner nearby before or after our cruise!
    • At the Wharf: Sit down for legendary sourdough and bay views at Boudin Bistro, or grab a fresh, walk-up crab or shrimp cocktail right off the historic sidewalk stands lining Taylor Street.

    • In North Beach: Take a short stroll to "Little Italy" for a feast. Try the "Best Damn Crab Cioppino" at Sotto Mare, grab a slice of award-winning pie at Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, or enjoy traditional white-tablecloth vibes at Firenze by Night.
  • Dress in Layers: The autumn air and wind at the Bridge can be a sensory overload. Bring a warm jacket! ️
